Down Shimmy  

   AKA: Shimmy on the Down

   Base Move(s): Hip Down, Hip Up

    

     

While Learning...

(to learn HOW to emphasize the down)

    Start with weight centered and in heels.

    Take tiny R step forward as you drop R hip.  

    Take tiny L step forward as you drop L hip.

    Repeat.

           

Once Learned...

    Remove step forward and repeat quickly to create the shimmy.

     

Tip: emphasis is on the "down" and looks/feels sharper than Up/Down Shimmy

     

Tip: when first learning this move, start slow then speed up as comfort level increases and slow down as necessary
