HI-OOM                                                          Hip Movement

   

Oomi 

   AKA:  Ami, Interior Hip Circle, Omi, Petite Hip Circle, 

      Pelvis Rotation

   Base Move(s):  Hip Circle, Pelvis Drop, Pelvis Lift 

    

    

Visualize: (although a bit crude), pretend you’re trying to pee around a coin (quarter, dime, etc.) – the smaller the coin, the smaller the movement

               

Counter Clockwise

•    Start with weight centered and in heels.  Deep knee bend.

•    Contract/lift pelvis (pull belly button to spine).

•    Squeeze L oblique.

•    Release/drop pelvis to obtain small arch in back.

•    Squeeze R oblique.

•    Repeat whole set continuously, smooth.

    

Clockwise

•    Start with weight centered and in heels.  Deep knee bend.

•    Contract/lift pelvis (pull belly button to spine).

•    Squeeze R oblique.

•    Release/drop pelvis to obtain small arch in back.

•    Squeeze L oblique.

•    Repeat whole set continuously, smooth.
