Snake Hips

   AKA: Figure Eight Horizontal

   Base Move(s):  Hip Slide, Hip Twist

     

     

Visualize: imagine a snake coiling up upon itself

     

Tip: hips should remain on the same vertical plane  

    

Tip: for Tribal styling heels should remain on floor

     

    Start with weight centered and in heels.

    R hip twist forward.

    Slide R hip to R side (front R diagonal).

    R hip twist back (back R diagonal) – L hip is automatically twist to front.

    Slide weight from R hip back to L hip front (front L diagonal).

    L hip twist back (back L diagonal) – R hip is automatically twist to front.

    Slide weight from L hip back to R hip front (front R diagonal).

    Repeat whole set continuously, smooth.

     

Reverse

    Start with weight centered and in heels.

    R hip twist back.

    Slide R hip to R side (back R diagonal).

    R hip twist forward (front R diagonal) – L hip is automatically twist to back.

    Slide weight from R hip front to L hip back (back L diagonal).

    L hip twist forward (front L diagonal) – R hip is automatically twist to back

    Slide weight from L hip front to R hip back (back R diagonal).

    Repeat whole set continuously, smooth.
